Focus and Scope

The Journal of Pedagogic Development (JPD) is developed in the Centre for Learning Excellence at the University of Bedfordshire, England.

It was launched at the University of Bedfordshire Annual Conference in July 2011 and its focus is on teaching, learning and assessment.

We publish papers up to 8,000 words long. If your paper is any longer, please query first.

We welcome pieces by new writers, early career researchers and experienced colleagues.

Book Reviews

This section is for book reviews. We try to review books that are no more than one year older than the JPD issue in which the review will appear.

Book reviews are usually between 400 and 1000 words long. If you are reviewing more than one book, please select the 'Review Article' option.

Peer Review Process

Do you have an idea for a paper to disseminate your research or good practice? Have you presented on teaching, learning or assessment at a conference but have had nothing published from it? Would you like some supportive and constructive feedback on your academic writing? Would you like your colleagues to read about what you are doing without prejudicing future publishing copyright?

Your paper will be peer reviewed and constructive feedback will be offered. The Editorial Board is twenty members strong and we have respresentatives from all over the world.

Publication Frequency

We publish in March, July and November, in hard copy and online.

To submit a paper or article for consideration, you will need to register or login (if you have registered before). Registration only takes a few minutes and you will only need to do it once.
